Preschool Progam

Our Preschool program, for children age 3 - 5 years, has been the Alfred Montessori's flagship program since 1983. The ratio for this classroom is 1 teacher for every 7 students.  There are two full time staff in this classroom, a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher.  Teachers act as guides in the Montessori classroom by following the child in their interests. Teachers provide one on one lessons to students to cater to their individual learning path, along with group presentations during circle time. 

The classroom is a beautiful and inviting prepared environment where students have access to a wide array of Montessori materials.  The classroom is divided into Practical Life, Language, Mathematics, Sensorial, Science, Art and Cultures shelves. Freedom of movement and choice is a strong foundation of the Montessori philosophy. 

The Preschool Class Daily Schedule:
8:00-8:30- Before School Care
8:30-10:30- Montessori Work cycle
10:30-10:45 Circle Time
10:45-11:00 Transition to outside
11:00-12:15- Outside Time
12:15-12:45- Lunch
12:45-1:00- Transition to rest time
1:00-2:00- Rest time
2:00-3:00 Quiet time
3:00-3:15 Transition to going home for 3:30
3:15-3:30 Transition to After School Care
3:30- 5:00- After School Care
